New techniques ensure very blond and well-maintained hair
Are you one of those people who dies to change and bet on super light hair, but are afraid of how their health will be? Don't even worry: you're not alone. This is a fear that rounds the heads of everyone who decides to resort to bleaching techniques. This is because the procedure breaks the chain of pigments responsible for the natural color of the hair. But, you know, there are much more modern methods that minimize chemical damage and, at the same time, make the color last longer. Also consider what is a soap cap
Among them, there are the locks in the water, which guarantee the effect of lightly lit locks and can be done in either blond or brown tones. The procedure is done with the wires still moist, which helps to give the discoloration naturalness. The hairdresser Cecyara Costa, from Dona Santa Beauty & Care, explains that the procedure favors that the threads are well prepared before receiving the chemical. “It is like preventive medicine: it treats and prevents before damage. We can give the hair a boost before, with a load of proteins, amino acids, everything that the hair loses with the discoloration ”, he explains.
This water that stays in the wires is another way to protect them; a kind of barrier to chemistry. “Associated with this, I use Olaplex (a product formed by carbon atoms, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen that reconstructs and protects the hair structure) and bleaching powder together with low volume hydrogen peroxide”, he says. However, warns Cecyara, no technique dispenses effective treatment at home and in the salon.
Another procedure, created by São Paulo's colorist Vanessa Oliveira, works the wicks with low oxidation, drawing them one by one. The most interesting thing is that this method does not use any product other than the bleach. “With the technique I manage to draw the threads, in ultra thin wicks, with low oxidation and working with intensity and dimension, maintaining the structure of the thread. We discolour and whiten as much as possible, thread by thread, until the hair opens naturally, without damaging it ”, he says.

The final effect is a very subtle gradient, less marked than traditional lights and more natural. The initial tip is to find out if the strands can support reaching the expected tone and reach the color without harming the health of the hair. For this, the wick test is essential. Then Vanessa does a brief interview with the client. “I create the look based on the personality of each one. I identify posture, tone of voice and know her a little to understand her and create a drawing of herself, in its best version ”, she says. The procedure can take six to 12h.
CARE
Like the body, hair also needs proper nutrition to stay healthy. Therefore, it is essential to adhere to a care routine. “The treatment has to be sequential; it is very important that the client follow home care with products indicated by the professional. And also to go, at least, once a month, to enhance the treatment in the salon ”, indicates Cecyara Costa.
Specialist Vanessa Oliveira usually goes through a hair care schedule, starting with reconstruction for mass replacement, then nutrition, with a load of proteins and hydration. ”Right after making the locks, I ask the client to wait three days to wash again because I always leave a protein in the strands, which will add to the natural oiliness of the hair helping to restore the health of the strands ”, he explains.
